Ryan and Callum Crowe didn’t have far to travel for their latest outing on the Hudspeth Triumph 675 powered HCR outfit as the Manx brothers were competing on the Island at Jurby airfield. After a strong practice session where they topped the leaderboard ahead of multi TT winner Dave Molyneux and passenger Dan Sayle they recorded a double win in Saturday’s two races.

The practice session saw them secure pole position with a fast lap of 1m 12.473s and over a second faster than Molyneux and Sayle.

As the first race got underway on the anti-clockwise course the Crowe brothers set off to head the field and were never caught. They led the race from lights to flag beating Molyneux and Sayle who were in second place by a margin of 13 seconds. They completed the eight lap affair in 9m 47.851s with a fastest lap time of 1m 11.110s, the fastest lap recorded in the race.

In race two the Crowe brothers were once again untouchable and led the race throughout the eight laps, building up an unassailable lead to cross the finish line some 28 seconds ahead of Melvin/Christian. This time their fastest lap was even quicker at 1,10.869s and their race time 9m 51.951s.

Ryan commented: “We are over the moon with the changes we have made to the outfit over the winter months. We are over three seconds quicker around this course than last year and just a fraction of a second away from Moly’s lap record time.”

Ryan and Callum were looking forward to a repeat performance in Sunday’s races but an unfortunate clutch failure during practice put paid to their weekend.

The Manx pair will be back in race action at the end of the month when they travel to Cadwell Park in the Lincolnshire Wolds for the third round of the Bemsee championship on April 28/29.
