Congratulations to the 2019 F.S.R.A. / Lane Building Services Pre-Injection championship winners – in the F2 class, Rob Fisher / Rick Long took a runaway victory. They had a remarkable season with seventeen wins and one DNF from eighteen starts. The F1 class winners were Wesley Pettman / Ben Robinson, entering five of the six rounds with a perfect finishing record – indeed placing on the podium in every race they contested.

A blustery and wet Anglesey greeted the teams for the final round series, with both the F1 and F2 class overall winners still undecided.

Saturday Race One

Fisher / Long (600 Baker Yamaha) proved their dominance in the F2 class with a win, sealing the championship. Jody Sims, with sons Mathew and Reece had plugged away all season with their 600 FZR Yamaha, and second place in this outing was enough to secure overall second in the championship. Alan Longshaw / Derek Salleh (600 Ireson Yamaha) placed third. Andy and Joanne Thomas suffered a clutch failure, resulting in a non-finish, putting a threat to their end of season championship top three placing.

The F1 class was even closer going into this meeting, with joint leaders Wes Pettman / Ben Robinson (720 Windle Yamaha) and Dave Tibbles / Raitch Greenwood (DDR FJ1100 Yamaha) level-pegging on 138 points a-piece. Joe Heys / Garry Wheeler (1100 Heys Kawasaki) were back on top form, winning the opening F1 race. There was bad fortune for Tibbles / Greenwood, the FJ1100 being black flagged with excessive smoke, handing the second place to Pettman / Robinson, with Steve Alexander / Steve Woolcott (1100 Broadstock Kawasaki) third.

Saturday Race Two

The results of the first race had sealed the top two F2 championship positions, so the Sims family used this opportunity for elder son Reece to take control of his dad's outfit, with younger brother Mathew in the chair. The experiment went very well, the youngsters taking fourth in their first race with Fisher winning, Longshaw / Sallah second, and the Thomas husband and wife pairing came home third after successfully carrying out repairs to the clutch.

Heys / Wheeler took their second F1 win of the day. Pettman / Robinson, with championship rivals Tibbles / Greenwood not making the grid took a firm grasp on the push for the championship with a steady second, while Alexander / Woolcott were once again third.

Sunday Race One

Fully wet conditions were the order of the day in the Lane Building Services trophy race. The F2 class was once again dominated by Fisher / Long. The Sims brothers took second place, in an impressive display. The father and son duo of Gerald and Daniel Hodgson (600 Shelbourne Honda) were third. The Thomas partnership placed fourth to secure third place in the championship.

Heys / Wheeler made it a hat-trick of wins, despite having to recover from a spin off at Rocket Corner. With an overnight engine change, Tibbles / Greenwood were back on the grid, taking second place. However, Pettman / Robinson knew their third place was good enough to secure the F1 championship, coming home ahead of Alexander / Woolcott.

Sunday Race Two

The track was somewhat unpredictable, with damp patches in drying conditions as the teams assembled on the grid for the final outing of the 2019 season. The F2 class was again won by Fisher / Long - ending this season with his seventeen wins – only dropping points with a single non-finish at East Fortune back in July. Longshaw / Sallah were second and the Sims brothers third.

Heys / Wheeler were non-starters, so the F1 class win was disputed by Pettman / Robinson and Tibbles / Greenwood. Unfortunately, both chose the wrong tyres, going for full wets. Tibbles / Greenwood took the class win to secure second in the 2019 Championship with Pettman / Robinson second, endorsing their status as worthy champions.
