A week later, they found themselves on the Isle of Man for the Southern 100 Races, and incredibly in only their second attempt they took a podium place and achieved a lap time which puts them as the seventh fastest team around the 4.25 mile public road circuit.

Lee Crawford and Scott Hardie won the inaugural "Marin Cup" (Scottish Sidecar Championship), with four F2 wins at the Jock Taylor Trophy meeting at Knockhill at the start of the month. They then completed their A.C.U. / F.S.R.A. British F2 Championship campaign with events at Mallory Park and Cadwell Park respectively. Teaming up with Lee Crawford was Tony Belsey - having also deputised for Patrick Farrance the fortnight previous, at the Auto 66 Club's season opening event at Cadwell Park. They had taken two class wins and a second place finish, despite enduring a number of mechanical issues - therefore, top of the agenda at Croft was ensuring that these problems had been eradicated.
